BTS will receive the Highest Honor Award, The James A. Van Fleet Award By Korea Society.
It is a prestigious award given by The Korea Society since 1995 for contributions to the promotion of U.S.-Korea relations. Now BTS will be the youngest recipient in history for the James A. Van Fleet Award after South Korea’s Order of Cultural Merit.
The Korean Society will present its highest honor award, the James A. Van Fleet Award in 2020, to 3 recipients:
#1. BTS
#2. American veterans who served in the Korean War,
#3. The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
On Wednesday, October 7, BTS will be honored with the award at The Korea Society’s 2020 Annual Gala. The organization announced that the award ceremony will be held virtually due to safety reasons amidst the Covid-19.
The previous recipients of the award are former United States President George W. Bush in 2017, SM Entertainment’s Lee Soo Man in 2012, former UN Secretary-General and former South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-Moon in 2004, and many more.
