“Map Of The Soul: 7 -The Journey~” by BTS was released on July 15 as their fourth full Japanese album. The album has 13 songs in total, with Japanese versions of many of their Korean tracks and two new original Japanese songs: the title track “Stay Gold” and “Your Eyes Tell,” which is a ballad composed and co-written by Jungkook.
Its been a Just One Day since BTS has released its highly-awaited fourth Japanese album after since 2018. And BTS is already taking the world by storms by breaking iTunes records with Map of the Soul: 7 The Journey and Jungkook’s self-composed, “Your Eyes Tell”.
Just as the Album released, ARMYs started its mission to help BTS break World’s charts and iTunes records. And it is mind-blowing that they have already achieved this in just 24 hours. Here are the most recent iTunes updates about Map of the soul: 7-The Journey~
Map of the Soul: 7 The Journey is officially the first Japanese album by a Korean act to debut at #1 on US iTunes Top Albums chart, via Twitter.
Also, the album has reached #1 on UK iTunes Top Albums chart as well as 70+ countries and counting.
In addition, Your Eyes Tell is also causing music chaos as it reached #1 on not just US and UK iTunes Top Songs chart but also reached the numero uno spot in a total of 85 countries. It means that Jungkook’s track surpassed Stay Gold’s 84 #1’s iTunes record and is now the Japanese song by a Korean act with the most #1’s on iTunes.
Furthermore, all the songs from MOTS: 7 The Journey are charting in the Top 50 on the US iTunes Top Songs chart.
But, that’s not all! BTS’s new Japanese has taken No. 1 on Oricon’s daily album chart!
On the daily albums chart for July 14 of Japan’s largest music statistics site Oricon, “Map Of The Soul: 7 -The Journey-” grabs No. 1 with estimated sales of 447,869. This is now BTS’s personal best for first-day Japanese album sales on Oricon, as their last Japanese album “Face Yourself” sold 188,085 copies on the first day of its release in April 2018.
Now, BTS became the first foreign artist since Michael Jackson 36 years ago to top Oricon’s mid-year album sales chart, with their Korean album “Map of the Soul: 7” selling 429,000 copies in Japan. “Map Of The Soul: 7 -The Journey-” has now already surpassed that number in just one day!
