Big Hit Entertainment realized their mistake and explained what happened.

Big Hits Entertainment’s Statment:

Hi, this is Big Hit Entertainment.

We like to share our official on the issue of BTS’ Suga’s mixtape.

The vocal sample of the speech at the beginning of the song “What Do You Think?” was selected without any special intentions by the producer who produced the track, He used the Sample as the overall environment of the song without knowing who the speaker was.

After selecting the Verses for the track, we proceeded to check the appropriacy of the contents according to our usual process. However, during the selection’s examination, we made the mistake of adding the sample without recognizing that it was an inappropriate sample.

Big Hit Entertainment has processes for reviewing its diverse content targeted toward a global audience for potential social, cultural, and historical issues. However, we are experiencing the reality that there are limits to understanding and correctly responding to every situation. In this case, we were not aware of it in advance, and we lacked the understanding of the historical and social situations relating to the sample. We apologize to those who have been hurt or felt uncomfortable by this.

After Realizing the mistake we immediately deleted the false part and re-released it.

Suga also feels embarrassed that he didn’t realize the mistake and deeply responsible for the problem arisen in an area that he did not consider.

Big Hit Entertainment will Consider this incident as an example and try to learn from it and also try to conduct its production process more briefly.
